The phylogenetic relationships of the major lineages within Nymphalidae have been under intense scrutiny for the past 10 years or so. With the publication of three seminal papers (Brower 2000, Wahlberg et al. 2003, Freitas and Brown 2004), the major clades and their relationships are clearing up.
